Customizable Vertical Roller Mill Manufacturer - Dolomite Vertical Mill For Non-metallic Ore Grinding
Description
Dolomite, a key member of the carbonate mineral family, is irreplaceable in industries such as construction materials, ceramics, and glass manufacturing due to its unique saddle-shaped rhombohedral structure.
But how can this hard mineral be transformed into fine, uniform industrial-grade powder? Vertical roller mill (VRM) technology holds the answer.
As a high-efficiency, energy-saving grinding solution, VRM systems leverage scientific staged crushing, precision grinding, and intelligent control to achieve the perfect transformation of dolomite—from centimeter-sized raw ore to micrometer-grade powder.
Dolomite Grinding Mill Working principle: The electric motor drives the grinding disc to rotate through a reducer, and the material falls into the center of the grinding disc from the feeding port. At the same time, hot air enters the grinding chamber from the air inlet. Under the action of centrifugal force, the material moves towards the edge of the grinding disc and is crushed by the grinding roller when passing through the circular groove on the grinding disc. The crushed material is carried up by the high-speed airflow at the edge of the grinding disc, and large particles directly fall onto the grinding disc for re grinding. When the material in the airflow passes through the dynamic and static separator, under the action of the rotating rotor, the coarse powder falls onto the grinding disc for re grinding, and qualified fine powder is discharged with the airflow, Collect in the powder collection device, which is the product. Materials containing moisture are dried during contact with hot gases to achieve the required product moisture.

Re:The data based on Mohs'hardness 3-4 material
The product fineness can reach 10 um(1250 meshes)
The dolomite VRM process begins with scientifically controlled crushing. Using impact crushers or cone crushers for intermediate crushing, the material is reduced to 10–50 mm particles. Special attention must be paid to dolomite’s Mohs hardness of 3.5–4, as excessive iron or manganese content may hinder grinding efficiency. Modern crushing systems ensure continuous material flow via synchronized vibrating feeders and bucket elevators, delivering uniformly sized feedstock to the VRM.
The VRM’s core features a multi-tiered grinding track design. Dozens of alloy-forged grinding rollers rotate along the grinding ring under centrifugal force, applying triple-action forces: impact, rolling, and shear. A high-pressure blower generates airflow (15–20 m/s) to transport crushed material to the dynamic classifier, where adjustable rotor speed precisely separates particles between 80–800 mesh. Multi-stage classification achieves ultra-fine powders up to 3,000 mesh.
In this closed-loop system:
Coarse particles automatically recycle for regrinding.
Qualified fines are collected via cyclone separators.
Pulse-jet dust collectors capture 99.9% of particulates, maintaining workshop noise below 75 dB.
Water treatment is critical for enhancing product quality. Post-sintering, materials undergo leaching, filtration, and drying to remove impurities, achieving industrial-grade calcium carbonate purity (≥99%).
The VRM system adapts to industry-specific demands:
Construction materials: Single-tier grinding for 140–325 mesh powders.
Ceramics: Multi-tier grinding + secondary classification for 1,600 mesh ultrafine powders.
High-iron dolomite: Automatic roller pressure reduction prevents metallic contamination.
